Choose the statement piece

Above the sofa or headboard, a large canvas or painting creates a focal point; in the hallway, a mirror enlarges the space and reflects light; and wall panels add texture and volume.

How high to hang

As a guide, the centre of the piece should be at eye level, about 145-155 cm from the floor. Above furniture, leave 15-25 cm of space and aim for the piece to measure around two thirds of the furniture's width.

Arrangements

To create a gallery wall, plan the layout on the floor before hanging, keep a similar gap between pieces and mix sizes and materials with a common thread.
